Surprisingly, some surgeons that practice vascular surgery in Phoenix are not board certified in vascular surgery. All of our surgeons at Vascular Surgery Specialists are board-certified in general and vascular surgery. The American Board of Surgery sets stringent requirements to qualify for the Vascular Surgery examination. In order to become board certified in vascular surgery, a physician must pass extensive training and examination in general and vascular surgery over a period of years.

Today’s vascular surgeon has completed a one- or two-year vascular fellowship, is board-certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery and is not only trained in surgical care for patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases but also has extensive experience in the non-invasive and minimally invasive endovascular techniques.
